Writer/director Eli Roth made his feature film debut in 2002 with the gory if ultimately shallow Cabin Fever (for whatever reason it had a remake in 2016). Over the past 20 years Roth has made his mark with horror fans directing two Hostel movies and the cannibal romp The Green Inferno. While not particularly original, Roth’s movies wear their influences on their sleeves and always manage find a couple of frames sure to gross out even the most jaded horror movie fan. He’s even dabbled in non-horror properties like the Death Wish remake and the kiddie friendly The House with a Clock in its Walls.

In Thanksgiving of 2023, Roth co-wrote and directed Thanksgiving and a sequel is slated to be released sometime in 2025. In 2024, his eagerly anticipated adaptation of Borderlands comes out. Before you see make plans to see those, be sure to watch or rewatch Eli Roth’s Top 5 Films.
